Hello! We thought today we could all use a small distraction from the general election here in the UK (but don’t forget to vote!) so today is Stone Club news day.
First up tomorrow we are headed to Byline Festival at Dartington Hall where Matthew will be in conversation with Ru Callender and Oliver Smith. You can still nab tickets here.
Then it's a Stone Club first, we’re off to Derbyshire for Timber Festival where we are hosting the Eyrie Stage on Sunday 7th. Tickets are also still available here, come hang out with us and hear some amazing conversation, music and big ideas! We have Annebella Pollen, Katy Soar, Richard Norris, Matthew Loughlin-Day, Elspeth Anne, John Abell, Ffion Reynolds, and Dr Ruth Allen joining us for the day with Richard Norris playing us out.
Finally on the 21st July we are headed to Lewes once again for the Festival of the Garden at Charleston Gardens where Matthew will be chatting with the brilliant James Canton about landscape, pilgrimage, and of course a stone or two. Tickets are available here
Stone(s) of the month:
This month we have chosen a site from our recent adventures in Anglesey: Penrhos Feilw. Two soaring megaliths in a field with pylons that almost mirror their shape. They are wafer thin, incredible in many ways that they have weathered so much over their lifetime and still remain. Thick with lichens and sparkling patches of quartz, they really have a very special feeling. The landscape around them is also just totally breathtaking, craggy and wild, it has the feeling of the depths of West Penwith or the Burren in County Clare. We spent quite a lot of time inspecting them, and admiring their forms which seem to shift and change from each angle.

Intuition Maps is an artwork that invites participants and visitors to reflect on animal instincts - their own and that of the more-than-human world - in the context of climate change adaptation. It aims to generate a sense of solidarity and interconnectedness with nature and each other.
Through collaborating with Northamptonshire communities such as yours, as well as local migratory species and machine learning, we are able to analyse and predict future patterns of mass movement.
Participants are invited to an outdoor ‘walkshop’, lead by Beccy. In this fun, sensorial, walking workshop in the woods we will use maps created by participants and local wildlife data - both of which have been fed through an AI algorithm - to navigate a new and unexpected walking route.
Bespoke route markers will later be installed at Irchester Country Park woods and open to the public in September. Join us to have your say in the final artwork!

In August we are headed off to Cheshire for the excellent one day Northgate Folk Festival on the 24th August where we will be doing a rare dj set, tickets are on sale here.
Likewise in September we are delighted to have been invited to dj at the Gorsedh Concert, tickets are on sale here
We have new t-shirts on sale now, they come in black and white, and have front and back prints, you can snap them up here
We hope you all have a wonderful rest of July, and hopefully we shall see you somewhere along our travels.
