A Solstice update
Hello!
We’ve had quite a few people send us things that are coming up this weekend and SO a special solstice newsletter update!
First up an event that we’ll be spinning some records at….
JIM GHEDI AT VERDANT TAPROOM PENRYN
21st June, 6pm
This will be an excellent evening with music from folk legends Jim Ghedi and Isaac.i.Ockenden, plus dancing from the WAD and dj sets from us and Brewing Folk.
(there will also be a free folk session from 2pm)
Stanmore, London
Sunday 21 June 2026,
15:00-17:30,
A ‘Stone Safari’ across three different sites in Stanmore at the end of the Jubilee Line in London.
This will be an artist-led exploration of the site where we unearth the geology hidden under our feet (and in plain sight) as a way of thinking about the heritage we share in common, even across our percieved surface-level differences! This creative exploration forms part of a new project called ‘Solidarities’ which will manifest as a participatory installation in North London in November. Solidarities of course alludes to the apparent solidity and grounding qualities of rock and the act of being in solidarity with each other.
We will stand on the site of an ancient earthwork, buried landfill and rumoured treasure whilst we exchange stories and stones with each other.
If you are interested and available, it would be wonderful to have you with us! Otherwise please feel warmly welcome to extend the invitation to anyone in your mineraly-mulchy network who may be interested. Some useful details are here.
An invitation to join SOLSTICE, a new gathering taking place at Trematon Castle in Cornwall from 19–22 June. Find out more here.
They are raising funds for EarthPercent through the festival and are happy to offer a small number of complimentary tickets alongside 50% discounted tickets for the community. Please do email if you’re interested in going and we can share the code.
And finally!
We are headed to The Social on June 29th for an evening of trees, rivers and moons. Come one, come all! Tickets here
Also we just got copies back from the printer of Ancient Times issue 4, snap up your copies here.
